The guy who shaped Taipei

The light gray represents the Ying while the dark gray represents Yang. Or something like that.

Knowing Taipei***, I would not want the headline being engraved on my Tombstone, if I were an architect. Taipei is, besides a few representational buildings and parks and the city center itself, a city of simple dirty out-of-the-box cement cubical buildings with bright neon advertisements attached to it, the houses are dirty, sidewalks hardly exists and everything smells from the rotten stink of old food wasting away in the drains. It is so butt-ugly sometimes I run around with my mouth open (for a second, then I close it because I taste too much Toyota) and say: "Wow! How did you manage to get that so ugly! It's amazing!" Yet, Taipei somewhat likes to keep up the lie it would be a somewhat attractive city, by focusing on the few parks and with articles like this one: http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/archives/2009/12/28/2003462052

Typical backyard view in a residential area

Note how the architecture blends in with the spiritual harmony of the natural beauty of the island Formosa... [that means "the beautiful in Portuguese I was told]

Sheet iron walls and concrete. Feel the harmony. Mind the trucks and scooters speeding around you. Or through you.

*** Edit: It is Monday morning and I really do hate Taipei, where I work, but not live.

It is rather interesting for me to read this blog. Thank author for it. I like such topics and everything connected to this matter. I would like to read more soon.

Thanks. And I am focusing more on the English part now. Was merely German for a while. Should be both languages from now on or at least a lot English.
