The mother of all translation errors....

Align Left

I guess if there will ever be a price for the worst translation, this price may go to China (as in People's Republic of China). A whole lot of these errors had been passed around in an office email coming to my desk here in Taiwan. A lot are only funny if someone explains the Chinese to you, like translating town names and similar. Translating the kou (mouth) character which actually also means "entrance" in a sign showing "entrance to bus station" is also pretty funny.
Below are three extreme examples which are rather easy to grasp. The two with "fucking fruit" variations come from the fact that the Chinese word for "dry" or "dried" (gan) is also used as a bad word for sexual intercourse. So "dried fruits" often become "fucking fruits" in Chinese translations. BUT the best one is the third one. That is actually a restaurant! Now why is it called "translate server error?". I guess someone has tried to use an online translation service and then just pasted the output of the browser into a text file and gave that to the sign maker....
Not only bananas...
but get a room first...
This restaurant should be famous!
